Welcome to tonight’s game thread!

After a tough loss last night, the Cardinals remain tied for first place in the NL Central. St. Louis just can’t seem to pull away. That said, any cushion at all would be nice, so we’re hoping for a win tonight!

For the Rockies, Juan Nicasio takes the mound. He has an uninspiring 8-7 record with a 4.58 ERA. That said, in his one career start against the Cards, he pitched 7 shut out innings for a win. It would be good if that didn’t happen again.

St. Louis has Joe Kelly going tonight, and he’s looking to get back on track after a game in which he only went 5 innings and gave up 4 runs (3 earned). Although most of his starting performances have been stellar, he’d like to forget about that last start and move on. Tonight is his chance to do so.

If he’s able to keep the always dangerous Troy Tulowitzki under control, he may have a good chance. Hopefully the Cardinals can jump out to an early lead and give him a cushion — help him get comfortable.

We ought to be in for a good game! Let’s go Cardinals!!!
