Yadier Molina led off the second inning with a home run to put the Cardinals on the board and the fun was only just beginning as Shelby Miller had no problem with picking up his 14th win of the season.

The Cards put up four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings as well as three runs in the seventh inning.

Carlos Beltran led off and ended the fourth inning but in between was a lot of fun to be had. Daniel Descaslo hit an RBI single that scored Molina. Matt Carpenter‘s 2-run single scored Matt Adams and David Freese. Matt Holliday‘s single scored Descalso.

In the fifth inning, things got started when Matt Adams hit a 2-run homer that scored Molina. Descalso doubled and scored Freese. Jon Jau singled and Descalso scored.

In the seventh inning, Kolten Wong had his first hit at Busch Stadium. He would score on Holliday’s double. Beltran singled and drove in Carpenter and Holliday.

Carpenter, Holliday, and Molina had 3 or more hits. Molina’d 4-hit day (.317) was not enough as he trails Carpenter (.319) on the team.
