Welcome to tonight’s game thread! Last night was as crazy as they get. Matt Adams went deep twice in extra innings to give the Cardinals the win in the sixteen-inning marathon.

Billy Hamilton stole his second base in his second big league appearance. Too bad there was a severe case of interference, or Yadi would have made him pay. Tonight, hopefully, they’ll either get the call right or Billy’ll be out anyway.

And Allen Craig twisted his ankle pretty well and isn’t in the lineup tonight. Instead, Matt Adams takes over at first base. Hopefully he can be as heroic as he was last night.

Tonight’s game features Lance Lynn, who has been struggling lately, and Tony Cingrani, who has not been struggling. If both of those trends change, then the Cardinals have a good chance to win.

Also interesting is the new shortstop. Hitting eighth, Ryan Jackson hopes to give the Cardinals some offense from the position. That said, he didn’t look all that good at AAA, but hope spring’s eternal!

If the Cards can win tonight, they’ll be back in a tie for first place before they go home to take on the Pirates again. After losing the first two games, it’s very important for the Cards to win this one and split the series with Cincinnati.

Let’s go Cardinals!!!
