Alright, so I entirely forgot to do this post earlier, and I’m in the middle of another project, so you guys get a very abridged version. Here are the important points for today’s game:
The Pirates have been killing the Cardinals. It needs to stop.
Joe Kelly, yet again, has to play the Cardinals’ stopper. In a mere 5 days, Kelly has climbed my personal power rankings from the other other ace, to the sole ace in the month of August. After disappointing outings from Wainwright, Miller, and Lynn, the Cardinals desperately need a good start and a win against Pittsburgh. If they pull one out, they’ll remain in a tie for first place.
The Pirates are starting left-hander Kris Johnson. He’s 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA in one Major League appearance.
Finally, Justin Morneau will take the field for the Pirates. Let’s hope he doesn’t do anything.
