Lynn pitched 7 innings in Monday’s victory. The Indiana native allowed 5 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, and struck out 6.

Trevor Rosenthal pitched the 8th inning, allowing 1 hit and striking out one batter.

Edward Mujica pitched the 9th inning and allowed a hit. It was a non-save situation for the current Cardinals closer. Last night was his first appearance since he appeared on May 29th against the Kansas City Royals.

Offensively, the Cardinals got help from a lot of players last night. Matt Carpenter had a 3 for 5 day at the plate, as did Carlos Beltran. Carpenter is currently enjoying a 12-game hitting streak, tied with the career high that he set last season. Carpenter added 3 runs on the night to his tally for a team-high 46 runs. Carpenter and Joey Votto lead the senior circuit in runs scored.

David Freese had 2 hits to raise his batting average to .265 this season. As of Monday night, he hit safely in a career-high 13 consecutive games. On May 17th, Freese was hitting .211 and he’s now hitting .265 on the year.

Allen Craig got things started in the first inning when he singled and drove in Carpenter.

In the third inning, Yadier Molina singled and knocked in Matt Holliday. Molina would soon score when Freese singled.

In the fourth inning, Carpenter scored for the second time of the night when Beltran hit a single.

Molina led off the fifth inning with a solo home run to left field.

In the sixth inning, Carlos Beltran hit a 2-run home run that scored Carpenter.
