Series Outlook, Cardinals Vs Milwaukee Brewers.

The Cardinals continue a 6 game home stand tonight when they start off a 3 game set with the division rival Brewers, their first meeting of 2013. The Redbirds are currently tied for first place in the Central after having taken 2 of 3 of the Reds earlier this week. The Brewers meanwhile are struggling. They’re 2-6 to start off the 2013 campaign and through their first 8 games have a team ERA of 5.47 with opposing teams hitting .316 against them. They’re coming off of two days of rest though thanks to a rain out in Chicago and they’re hoping that’ll help them.

The big match up is the one on Friday. The Cardinals are dedicating the game to Stan Musial so there will be a lot of Stan related stuff going on (He’ll even be on the baseballs). Plus it is the return of Kyle Loshe to St.Louis, it’ll be the first time Cardinals fans have seen him since he was starting for the Redbirds in Game 7 of last year’s NLCS. He’ll go up against the right hander Shelby Miller who was solid last time out against the Giants going 5 and a third and picking up the W. On Saturday it’ll be a battle of team aces as the Cards send out Adam Wainwright for his first home start of the season. He’ll go up against Yovani Gallardo who has struggled so far this year and is known for struggling against the Cardinals. On Sunday the Redbird will send out southpaw Jaime Garcia to face Marco Estrada.

A big thing to watch about this weekend tilt will be the offenses, as the Cards are known for their offense have seen guys like Matt Adams and Matt Carpenter step up recently as well as having Matt Holliday in the middle of the lineup. While the Brewers of course have one of the best players in the game in Ryan Braun. All in all, it should be a fun series to watch.
