While the Cardinals prepare for the season in Spring Training, the minor league teams have been playing exhibition games to get ready for the season as well.

Highlights from Thursday:

Ryan Jackson had one of the better performances of the day. Playing for Memphis, the infielder went 3-for-5 with a double, home run and two RBIs.

Peoria beat Savannah 11-8 on Thursday. David Washington went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk and 4 RBIs. Anthony Melchionda was 3-for-5 at the plate with a double, two triples, a run scored and 4 RBIs. Bruce Caldwell added a triple and a home run with two RBIs.

Highlights from Friday:

Memphis beat Springfield 6-2 on Friday. Pitching for Memphis, Michael Wacha went 5 innings. Wacha allowed 1 hit, 1 walk, and struck out 4. Ryan Jackson was 3-for-4 at the plate with 3 doubles, a walk and a run scored. Chad Huffman was 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI.

Highlights from Saturday:

Playing for Memphis, Brock Peterson was 2-for-4 with two home runs and 3 RBIs.

Quite a few impressive performances as Springfield defeated Jacksonville 12-7. Xavier Scruggs was 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, triple, two runs scored and 4 RBIs. Patrick Wisdom went 2-for-4 with two doubles, 2 runs, and 2 RBIs. Finally, Nick Longmire was 2-for-4 with 3 runs scored and a walk.

In Palm Beach’s defeat of Jupiter, Carson Kelly was 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Matt Young went 3-for-4 with an inside-the-park home run, 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Highlights from Sunday:

Springfield beat Binghampton 3-2 and were aided by Xavier Scruggs hitting a 2-run home run.

Playing for Peoria, David Washington went 3-for-5 at the plate with an RBI.
