Tony LaRussa Out The Rest Of The Week With Shingles

It was announced earlier today that Cardinals manager Tony La Russa is sick with a case of shingles and will be out for the rest of the week. Until further notice, bench coach Joe Pettini is taking over the duties and running the club. He has been out of it as of late and reportedly in a lot of pain. He had to get a physical in Arizona on Monday and while there they finally found the cause and are now taking steps to get him on the path to recovery.

Apparently he has been suffering from the condition since early April and his right eye has had significant pain along with discoloration that has since gone away, now he is hoping to rest and help take away any discomfort that still ails him.
