I am all for getting another bat, via Holliday, via Vernon Wells, etc etc etc...., but I really dont see people taking a risk on Pujols still even if he has good protection behind him. Teams will still take their chances with any player not named Pujols. Now it will definitely get better results for the Cardinals if we get that bat and thats really what we need. Its going to happen, more needs to be done to capitalize on when it happens. On another note I am tired of people coming up with stupid trade rumors that involve getting players. Example, "Lets package Duncan, Ankiel, Boggs and Brett Wallace for Halladay" Do you think every other team in MLB doesnt know about Duncan and Ankiel? They are not future stars, and in Duncan's case a never star. They are mediocre at best bench options for a 4th, 5th OF. Cards in my opinion are destined to get Matt Holliday. Ludwick, Holliday and Rasmus running the OF, Ankiel gets spot starts and bring up a rook to be a 5th OF, stop catering to the son of the pitching coach, he's never going to get it going. He's a tall oaf who strikes out and pops out, if he was at about 15 jacks right now instead of the 4 he has it would be as big of a problem. Reminds me of a Jack Cust but the major difference is he cannot hit the home runs Jack Cust can, and that is why Cust is getting significant playing time.
