The St. Louis Cardinals have raised ticket prices 3 percent for the 2008 season. Team president Mark Lamping indicated today that season ticket holders will be notified of the 3 percent increase by mail and e-mail.
“We believe that Cardinals tickets will remain a great value,” Lamping said.

Springer Returns
The Cardinals and relief pitcher, Russ Springer, have agreed to a contract extension today. The deal is said to be for one year, at fair, market value. Springer, who will be 39 next month, appeared in 76 games in ‘07, with an 8-1 record. His 2.18 ERA was his career best. View all of his stats here. Will La Russa Return for ‘08?
As it stands right now, the Cardinals are without a general manager and a field manager. Interim GM John Mozeliak would like to take over Walt Jocketty’s old job, and is definitely a candidate. Already he has picked up Jason Isringhausen’s club option for next season, and, according to Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post Dispatch, is planning to talk to agents about the possible returns of David Eckstein, Russ Springer, and Joel Pineiro. Hi. I’m Mike, and I’m a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. I’ve been following the team since I was a kid, and my obsession has gotten much worse over the years. I’ll be posting my personal opinions of the team, and all of their happenings here as often as I can. Occasionally, I might include a little non-Cardinal baseball news.
